things I love – garden markers

July 31, 2012

Working in the garden is a labor of love.  Enduring insect bites, dirty fingernails and sore muscles will eventually yield a delicious and fragrant bounty.

But until that happens, sometimes we need to celebrate … something.  A little token that something wonderful is on the way.

.

Homemade garden markers are just the thing.  Here’s a collections of garden markers I love – all made by repurposing/upcycling!  Click on each of the images to see the original posts from these fabulously creative bloggers.

and now my own version — made with surplus flatware and wine corks (actually imitation cork)

I wanted to focus on the culinary/kitchen vibe with the place forks

while at the same time positioning the markers so I could see them when looking down into the garden.

We’ll see more as the pieces come together in the soon-to-be-kitchen garden 🙂

Thanks so much for reading and hope you are having a wonderful week!

Now how cute are those?! The cool thing is I like every one of them–and they’re simple in appearance (I’m thinking the tied to the stick ones only LOOK simple!).
    Just too cute!
I love the broken pot ones, but mostly cuz we stick to terra cotta on the patio with a dash of colour here and there. But I wondered how in the world I’d see which plant it was once they did their growing up. I like that you’ve put yours in a way that I wouldn’t have to stoop and bend and unbury to find out ‘zackly which one I was taking a sprig from.! 😉

Diane, you always share the BEST stuff!!!!

Everyone of these creative crafts are utterly faaaaaaaaaabulous! I like how Hardly Housewives used the terracotta pots as name tags!

And your fork and cork tags are beyond brilliant!

“I wanted to be able to see the names looking down at the garden, but still keep that culinary feeling with the place forks.”

How do you think of these things?!!?

    Love that last photo!

Thanks for sharing, girl! Have a great Wednesday!

    X to you and Cristybella!

Those are great! You’re smart to put the names facing up.

    Those garden markers are awesome!!
Now, all we need is a backyard and I’d be a copycat. 😉
    I hope you’re having a great week!
    Hugs! Vanessa
