the other stripe

I love stripes.  With just one exception.  This particular striped fellow has a by-product of which I am not too fond.

After an unfortunate confrontation with our little dog, who fancies herself a ferocious hunter and property guardian, that aforementioned by-product found intself on the dog and into the house.

At 3am.

Oh yes.

Thankfully the worst is behind us.  Just a minor shift in weekend activities.

Today, however, Carrie at Project Possessed is sharing her close friend’s recipe for Thanksgiving dressing.

Today’s the last day of the Thanksgiving progressive dinner potluck.  Please drop by Carrie’s for this once in a blue moon chance to grab this recipe and check out her new link party!

Thanks everyone, the progressive dinner has been so much fun 🙂

That smell could wake the dead! I’m glad the worst is over. We ended up shampooing carpet the morning of a big dinner party because our skunk sprayed dog simply ran through the house one time. It was the only way to get rid of the smell inside!!

That dressing looks amazing! I’m off to get the recipe.

OMG, everytime I see a photo of a skunk, I think of Pepe Le Pew!

One time, when I was kid, our dog also got sprayed by one of those stripped criters.

HOLY COW….it took a WEEK for the dog to smell normal again.

    P.U.!

Faaaaabulous recipe, Diane! And that photo makes it look yummy! yummy! yummy!

The dressing is my favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner. That, and hot dinner rolls with REAL butter!

Have a super-duper Monday, dear friend!

Much X to you and Cristybella!

Thanks for the mention Diane! I really appreciate that! So sorry about your puppy. 😦 No fun, but I am sure it will make for a funny story later… Long after the smell is gone!

Be glad it wasn’t you that got sprayed.

    OMG that was awful.
Don't even think climbing on to the hood of your car to watch stars on a country road is a good thing. Well, it might be as long as it's not near the home of Mrs. Skunk and family.

And now……I'll try to forget that experience…LOL….and investigate the stuffing. OMG I'm envious.

    Sucks to be me……..

Part of me wishes I was blogging back when we were having regular run-ins with the neighborhood skunks. The stories would have made for great blog material.
    Ah, memories.
    Stinky memories.
    That dressing looks divine!
Thanksgiving is right around the corner! Yay!
