refreshingly new again
I started this project Labor Day weekend and finished just the other day. And this evening I added hardware to the drawer fronts.
This pretty old secretary has a new role in life as a mini-linen closet. But, in all honesty, its primary job is just to look cute.
The before version made me wince. This piece of furniture has a few scars. Not to mention the abuse I accidentally inflicted as I was trying to mend them.
I’d love to find a way to use a few of the remaining rosette drawer knobs. They’re so pretty and unusual.
Arranging objects is admittedly not one of my strengths. I’ve been obsessing over the accessories for 2 evenings. It’s still not right. But I love all the things individually. Treasures from moments past.
But, as I keep reminding myself, there’s not a deadline. And if I listen with my heart, I will hear the whispers to guide me along this never ending, glorious journey of nest feathering.
Thank you for your company, it gives me such joy!

Gasp! Love it! I have been waiting for this post since you gave us the sneak peak – you lived up to expectations! It’s absolutely beautiful!
I am not ordinarily a blue person but this piece is seriously just a little slice of Heaven. The color combo is spot on and I think you underestimate your ability and eye for arranging.

OMG…this transformation is AMAZING, Diane!!!!!
The before and after are…..WOW! It doesn’t even look like the same secretary.
LOVE the powder blue interior!
You GO, girl!
Happy Wednesday, dear friend!
X to you and C!
Beautifully and cleverly done! This turned out so well and now I want one! Back in July you left me a wonderfully upbeat comment on my blog post about Dollar Store moss decor balls and I thank you for it! I’m finally getting my creative mojo back after breast cancer treatment and kind thoughts from bright women like you just make my day. I’ll be back!
Somebody get me a fainting couch because I am about to swoon.
I would attached the knobs to a nice piece of work and use it as a hanging rack.
awesomely cleverly adorable idea!!!! xoxo Diane

Wow! What a gorgeous transformation. It looks so bulky in the before picture, but you transformed it into a beautiful piece of art. Love the color! The accessories look perfect to me.
Love the blue and white! An incredibly beautiful piece.
Beautiful transformation Diane. I think your knick knacks are perfect and if they have meaning to you – even better! I love those old knobs. I would attach them to something and use them to hand towels or some of your beautiful crafts.
Diane, that is gorgeous! I think you did a fabulous job on it, and I LOVE that blue you used for the inside.
Definitely keep the knobs~something will come along that you can use them for.
