clock re-do

More than a year ago, I purchased a clock via Craigslist.  I don’t know what I was thinking at the time, because this clock purchased new, is not really expensive.

Anyway, I liked it initially, but then, not so much.  We put it aside and I concentrated on other projects.

I’ve been reading about the different kinds of painting finish techniques that so many other bloggers have used to bring interest to furniture and other objects that were previously not so interesting.

So on Saturday, I picked up a little jar of oops paint in a shade of black at Lowes.  Painted the clock frame then sanded it.

Then applied a dark shade of Minwax stain.

My intent was to practice this paint finish technique to see how it goes.  My real objective is to refinish a much larger piece of furniture.  One that is currently in use.  Don’t really want to practice on that.

I think the results of the little test subject are OK.  Here’s the clock back together again.

Hanging in the dining room, the only room in the house (except the laundry room) without a clock.  Now that oversight is remedied.
