stacked paper (modern art 2.0)

It’s no secret that I love paper.  And truth be told, I hoard it.  I pore through the contents of our mailbox to select the best quality paper from the nonessential (aka junk) mail.

Lately I’ve been working on a little paper project again, revisiting my former favorite, the stacked paper garland.

I had to remove the pretty stacked paper to hang up my valentines love note for Cristy.  And as I took it down, I realized that particular spot where it was hanging is much better for seasonal expressions than a permanent collection.

So now, my favorite paper creation has a permanent home, brightening a little corner nook.

11pm postscript—

Even as I hung the strands of paper and photographed it, I knew it was incomplete.  Only two strands.  The rhythm was wrong.  I experimented with some driftwood, but the pieces we have are too large and bulky.  As a temporary solution, until I collect some smaller pieces of driftwood, I hung a strand of shell pieces combined with shell buttons.

This is better.  A step in the right direction.

Thank you for visiting!

This is so clever. I love the way it fills up the space… lots of color and texture, but no clutter. Very creative.
