installing a painting

After many many long months of indecisiveness, we purchased a painting by Kimberly Love, of Santa Fe, NM to install in the expansive space above our fireplace.  A primary focal point of the room, to be certain.

It is a painting that makes me happy when I see it.  It looks romantic and peaceful, serene and windswept.  It plays the song in my heart and carries my mind just to that place beyond the edge of the sand dunes where tall grasses and wildflowers are abundant.

For most of the year, we have been considering a clock, or collection of clocks in this area.  And I love clocks and Cristy absolutely adores clocks.  But for some reason, I kept hesitating.  While I am not sure why, I am glad for it.

This painting will endure.  It is the product of one person’s particular creative imagination.  It is not mass produced from a printing press.  The beautiful perfections and imperfections that together make this lovely composition will be a notable part of our home.

Life fusing with art.

Kimberly Love displays her portfolio online through KiptonART.

    OH. MY. GOD.

    I absolutely LOVE this painting!!!!!

And you hit the nail on the head when you said…

“It is a painting that makes me happy when I see it. It looks romantic and peaceful, serene and windswept.”

Yes, I immediately felt good when I saw this painting. It’s so open, airy, and simplistic.

“It plays the song in my heart and carries my mind just to that place beyond the edge of the sand dunes where tall grasses and wildflowers are abundant.”

Then it was totally meant for you to have this piece, because that’s what art is suppose to do – move you.

Thanks for sharing. I bet this looks so beautiful in your home.

Have a wonderful weekend, my dear friend!

Hi Lizzie, thank you! We just hung it today. Everything takes longer than I plan. But it does look nice. I’m still trying to phase out some of the Hallowe’en trappings on the mantel. I think I need to live with it for a while to figure out the right combination of trinkets to surround it. xoxo

I love it. My husband and I are looking for something similar to fill a giant (currently empty) wall in our bedroom. Thanks for the inspiration!
